Shakespeare's Henry 5th could perhaps teach us something about our spiritual walk

Photo: Spiritual Warfare
I sincerely believe that God gives nationhood and we should therefore celebrate our nation. Today, St George's Day, our national day, we should not be ashamed to declare that we are English. (substitute your own nationality!). This is not being a little Englander as many would accuse. I am proud of my nation. I have put up an English flag in my front window; I am flying one from my car. Eccentric? No, I'm proud.

I was thinking too that today is also the birthday (and anniversary of the death) of William Shakespeare. That took me to the famous stirring speech at the battle of Agincourt.

We need 'Henry 5th character' in our churches today as we see more and more of our rights and freedoms being taken. We need the same spirit in our Christian lives as we 'battle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places' Ephesians 6:12

See this stirring speech as Henry 5th rallies the troops and put on the full armour of God.
