|Although I was unable to visit the church in Peshawar as it was deemed to dangerous at this time, Pastor Moses was able to visit and sent an encouraging report along with photographs taken at the church
The photos themselves tell a large part of the story. What is not seen is a challenge to every Christian and every Church that does not suffer the persecution of Christians in many nations.
There is a network of house churches in Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. They all contributed something over £20,000 ($35,000) for the families of the bereaved at the church. In 2 Corinthians 1:4-6 we read "We are be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ."
I have heard the persecuted church these countries described as the Church of Smyrna - The Persecuted Church. (Revelation 2:8-11) Those that are suffering are so much able to give freely to their fellow-sufferers. It goes beyond sympathy to an empathetic understanding of their suffering.
Their faith is daily tested as with fire and the result is a zeal for God that is seeing their persecutors and even members of the Taliban being saved and joining the house churches. Let us all aspire to have the same zeal for Jesus.
To God be the glory
