|The results of the 2013 kenya elections have just been announced with victory given to Uhuru Kenyata. He scraped through with marginally enough votes to be declared the winner over rival Raila Odinga.
In the past elections, it has been after the results are known that violence has flared up in Kenya. I was in Western Kenya in 1992 when the first political clashes occurred and they have become increasingly violent since. In the last elections many lives were lost and some people are still displaced.
Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are still facing charges of inciting the riots. They are due to appear at the ICC in the Hague in May. This could add to the potential unrest.
Please continue to pray for continuing peace in Kenya.
